Purcell Mirror Method

In this video, we will demonstrate the methodology of antenna measurement using a variation of the Purcell reflection method. To begin with, we’ll go over a little bit of the historical background for its application. Following, we examine the the mathematical formula and the actual data resulting from this method.

Mirror Method with Time Domain

In this video, we will present a unique methodology for performing a single antenna measurement with a mirror image. This technique was originally developed in the 50’s by Purcell and relied upon perfect match as well as real-time match data. The method had limitations because the antenna under test required a good match. Later, this was modified and the method was extended. We used the Anritsu lightening with 1600 data points. The time domain gate was also set at one half meter with an 8 centimeter width.
